East Valley | Payroll Tax Leadership | Hybrid After 90 Days
Payroll tax leaders who like building teams and solving real problems - this one's worth a look.
I'm working with a mission-driven organization in the East Valley that's adding a Payroll Tax Supervisor due to continued growth. This is a newly created role that steps in to help balance leadership within a large, high-volume payroll tax group.
You'll be leading a portion of the payroll tax team, owning multi-state compliance, and acting as a hands-on subject matter expert. This is not a "keep the lights on" role - they need someone who can jump in, coach others, improve processes, and help the team keep pace with growth.
What this role involves: Leading and developing payroll tax specialists
Overseeing federal, state, and local payroll tax filings across multiple states
Helping launch payroll tax compliance in new states and localities
Preventing notices and penalties through strong deadline management
Partnering closely with payroll leadership and operations
Using Excel and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency
What they're really looking for: Payroll tax leadership experience
Comfort coaching, hiring, and holding teams accountable
Strong Excel skills for tax reporting
A "scrappy" personality - adaptable, practical, and comfortable in fast-moving environments
Details worth knowing: Hybrid flexibility available after 90 days (2 days WFH) based on performance
Compensation generally falls in the $85K-$110K range, depending on experience
Supportive benefits and a culture centered on purpose and impact
If you've led payroll tax teams and enjoy environments where both experience and personality matter, feel free to message me directly. Referrals are also welcome.
